Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training
For people who care about children, their safety is a primary concern. To help adults learn more about protecting them, Children’s Trust provides a free, two-hour training called Stewards of Children.
The engaging and thought-provoking session includes:
A two-part DVD presentation with commentary from sexual abuse survivors, experts in the field, and concerned adults.
Facilitator-led discussion that emphasizes important issues in prevention within organizations that serve children and youth as well as the broader community.
An interactive workbook that facilitates discussion, reinforces key concepts, and serves as a resource and personal action plan for resolving child sexual abuse.
EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVES:
Valuable information to help protect children from abuse, respond well, and reduce the trauma when faced with it.
A workbook to follow the training and use as a resource for later.
A community resource guide, with helpful phone numbers such as the Virginia child abuse hotline (800-552-7096) and a crisis text line (741741).
A certificate of completion. Sometimes CEU credits are available.
Contact Donna Hopkins Britt at (540) 344-3579, ext. 13, or Donna.Britt@roact.org to learn about attending or offering a training.
