
The Golden Halo Awards were created in 2008 to recognize and honor outstanding contributions to the cause of child abuse prevention, intervention and advocacy in the Roanoke Valley.
Nominees must have distinguished themselves clearly in one of the following categories: Child Protective Services, Law Enforcement, Legal/Judicial, Medical Professional, Mental Health Professional, Community Volunteer, Foster Parent, or Educator.
Anyone may nominate. A Selection Committee, comprised of previous Golden Halo winners, will choose the 2010 winners.
This year’s presenting sponsor is WSLS News Channel 10.
Other named sponsor opportunities are available. Tables will be available for corporations to join the celebration of their nominees.

The awards celebration will be held in Fitzpatrick Hall at the Jefferson Center;
Thursday April 22 , beginning at 6:30 p.m.

When submitting a nomination, please consider the following:
• Commitment— The winner will have demonstrated a clear and prolonged commitment to the cause of child abuse prevention, intervention and advocacy.
• Service— The winner will have shown a consistent, high degree of service to his or her profession or volunteer work.
• Accomplishment — The winner will be an eminently worthy candidate. Please submit your nominations for candidates about whose work and accomplishments you have personal knowledge.
• Submit only the attachments called for in the application.
• Nominate only one person for each category
• Winners from previous years will be considered again after 1 year
• You may nominate from within or outside of your profession and/or organization
• It is not necessary to use the form, as long as the required information is provided
