GIVE Roanoke

April 19, 2023

Have you seen the beautiful pinwheel garden at Virginia Western Community College’s arboretum? It was planted by Children’s Trust staff and volunteers to raise awareness for April’s Child Abuse Prevention month.

DOUBLE your impact!

When you donate to Children’s Trust during GIVE Roanoke your donation will be matched, up to $5,000!

Get ready to give! On April 19th, visit https://buff.ly/3KhiFVi and make a donation to Children’s Trust of Roanoke Valley. All giving will end at 11:59PM on April 19, so make sure to get your gift in on time!

April is Child Abuse Prevention month. Together, we can make a difference! Join us during GIVE Roanoke and help us reach our goal of $10,000. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will have a direct impact on educating children and caretakers to reduce the occurrence of child abuse and neglect, providing support services to local families in need, and fighting for the best interests of children going through foster and investigative proceedings.

This time your donation goes especially far as we have an incredibly generous Donor that will match us at $5,000. That means for every dollar we raise up to $5,000, it counts TWICE! Double your impact by donating during GIVE Roanoke starting April 1st.

Let’s come together as a community and create change that lasts. Imagine the difference we can make, the lives we can touch, and the Roanoke we can create through compassion and unity. Let’s do this! 💚💙

More about Children’s Trust:

Children’s Trust of the Roanoke Valley is a local non-profit organization with the mission to end child abuse. We are one agency with FIVE programs:

Children First offers child abuse prevention classes to children in schools and training for adults who work with children.

Healthy Families Roanoke Valley connects new parents around the greater Roanoke Valley with a variety of home-based, evidence-based family support to help them create stable, nurturing environments to help break the cycles of abuse.

Roanoke Valley Trauma Informed Community Network connects organizations in the Roanoke Valley with resources, training, and techniques for implementing trauma-informed systems to help everyone thrive.

Children’s Advocacy Center is a child-friendly facility designed to reduce the trauma children often endure during the investigation and prosecution of abuse.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program trains and supervises volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children, ensuring they have a safe, permanent home.

Children’s Trust is dedicated to coordinating services that promote awareness about child abuse, provide family support through education, nurture a child-friendly environment for the investigation of abuse, and advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Services are available to all citizens residing within 25 jurisdictions. Our Children’s Advocacy Centers are located in Roanoke, Bedford, Christiansburg, and Woodlawn, Virginia.
